Priorities

Your concerns are Cat’s priorities.

Catherine “Cat” Hardrick has built her platform by listening to residents, business leaders, and neighbors across Snellville. Too often, business-as-usual leadership has ignored community voices. Cat believes progress comes from listening, and that leadership must always put people first.

Construction

Sustainable Growth & Infrastructure

Issue: Overdevelopment is overwhelming our roads, schools, and stormwater systems, diminishing quality of life.

Community Voices: Neighbors shared that they often feel dismissed or ignored when raising concerns about zoning and development.

Cat’s Priorities:

  • Work to ensure growth is balanced, attracting investment without overloading infrastructure.

  • Protect neighborhoods and green spaces while supporting responsible development.

  • Advocate for stronger infrastructure planning and stormwater management improvements.

  • Create more opportunities for meaningful community input on major zoning and development approvals.

Local Family Business

Support for Small Businesses & Economic Vitality

Issue: Local businesses struggle to compete with big-box chains and don’t always get the support they need.

Community Voices: Small business owners shared their concerns with Cat, saying they want a fair chance to grow, hire locally, and be recognized as essential to Snellville’s future.

Cat’s Priorities:

  • Champion “Buy Local” initiatives to keep dollars in Snellville.

  • Build inclusive partnerships that support businesses of every size.

  • Advocate for programs and policies that make it easier for small businesses to start, grow, and succeed.

  • Support community events and markets that showcase local businesses.

Community Voices: Residents told Cat they want a city that invests in people — from children to seniors — so no one feels left behind.

Cat’s Priorities:

  • Expand food security programs and strengthen community efforts that ensure families in need have support year-round.

  • Partner with nonprofits and schools to mentor youth and strengthen families.

  • Support services and programs that help seniors age well in place and stay active in the community.

  • Advocate for resources that serve veterans, mental health needs, and survivors of trauma.

  • Explore programs that promote health, resilience, and connection across the community.

Accountable, Transparent Leadership

Issue: Many residents feel city decisions are made behind closed doors, with personal interests placed above the people’s needs.

Community Voices: On her Listening Tour, Cat heard again and again that neighbors feel unheard, devalued, and left out of the process.

Cat’s Priorities:

  • Work to ensure residents’ voices are included in key decisions through regular town halls and listening sessions.

  • Expand communication through newsletters, digital updates, and community forums so information is accessible to all.

  • Advocate for clearer reporting of city decisions, budgets, and development plans.

  • Models leadership that welcomes, listens to, and values community input.

Public Safety & Neighborhood Preservation

Issue: Rapid growth has raised concerns about traffic, safety, and preserving the character of Snellville’s neighborhoods.

Community Voices: Residents told Cat they want safer streets, stronger support for first responders, and development that respects the city’s character.

Cat’s Priorities:

  • Support first responders and advocate for stronger community policing and collaboration.

  • Work to maintain safe, clean neighborhoods with better lighting, sidewalks, and road upkeep.

  • Protect neighborhood character by opposing reckless development and ensuring growth aligns with residents’ values.

  • Encourage collaboration with HOAs and neighborhood groups so citizens have a real voice in local decisions.
