ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

GET TO KNOW "CAT"

CATHERINE
HARDRICK

MOM +  VETERAN + ACTIVIST +  ENTREPRENUER

Originally from Michigan, Catherine “Cat” Hardrick has called Snellville home since 2000. She is an activist, servant leader, disabled Army veteran, and community advocate with a strong history of public service and leadership. She is the mother three adult children, a grandmother, and has a grand-pup, Mo-Jo..

Cat proudly served five years in the United States Army before building a 20-year career in the finance industry. She later combined her professional expertise with her passion for wellness to launch Journey Within, LLC, a health and wellness practice dedicated to helping people live balanced and fulfilling lives.

Her community service is extensive. She created the Annual MLK Day Food Drive, which continues to provide meals and resources for families in need. She mentors students through Gwinnett County Public Schools, serves as Membership Director for the Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce, and volunteers with Soldiers’ Angels to support veterans. She also partners with Wellspring Living to help survivors of human trafficking and advocates with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to raise awareness around mental health.

The Georgia Legislative Women’s Caucus presented her with the Yellow Ribbon Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award, an honor that reflects her commitment to service, justice, and community impact.

Her activism deepened after the murders of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, when she joined peaceful protests but quickly realized that real change required action beyond the streets. In 2021, she ran for Snellville City Council Post 5, championing accountability, transparency, and a government that listens to its people. Although she fell short by just 200 votes, she ran again in 2023 and narrowed the gap to only 65 votes — a clear sign that Snellville residents are ready for change.

Cat’s decision to run again came after listening to countless neighbors and business leaders share their concerns and disappointment with leadership that too often prioritizes personal interests over people. She believes every resident deserves to be heard and respected.

“Too often, the status quo has misled the people, taken residents for granted, and ignored their voices altogether. Now is the time to say No More. Now is the time for leadership that listens, not lectures; where every voice is valued, where different opinions are welcomed, and where progress is measured in people, not just projects.”

Cat is also a proud graduate, holding a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University, an Associate degree in Banking and Finance from Gwinnett Technical College, a TEFL certification from CIEE, and a Health Coach certification from IIN. She is the mother of three adult children and enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.

COMMUNITY

ACCOUNTABILITY

TRANSPARENCY

Representation is the bedrock of our community, diversity is our strength, and all voices must be included in building a better community for our future.  I am dedicated to restoring the "it takes a village" concept in building a thriving commuity for all.

By holding elected officials accountable, restoring community trust, and being available to all citizens while acknowledging their diverse heritages, we can move Snellville in the direction that truly represents its slogan “Snellville, Where Everybody's Proud to be Somebody."

By  being transparent, ethical, responsive, and accessible, we can establish, rebuild, and maintain the trust  of the community.  We have the opportunity to intentionally and strategically work together to create material change in our communities.
